Please help. (Flyers are attached to this article for download and distribution among your neighborhoods and public places.) This is tragic and urgent. Billie Jean James, the woman holding the Save Red Rock bumper sticker in this photo (by K.M. Cannon, Review Journal) has been missing since the day after the Clark County hearing last Wednesday. She has always been very kind and supportive of the Save Red Rock effort. She showed her support at the Red Rock Hearing, then turned up missing the next day. You can print out flyers and call Metro with any information:828-LOST
Her name is Billie Jean James and our friend Yuki Takagi, has been working with search parties since last Thursday to try and find her. Tragically, she has not yet been found, so a candlelight vigil has been set up for tonight to wish Billie Jean's swift and safe return, and to continue to get the word out and increase coverage.
Letter from friend Yuki Takagi:
My dear friend, avid hiker, and one of original Red Rock activists, Billie Jean James, has been missing since Thursday afternoon. Since she came to the Red Rock Overlay hearing on Wednesday, you may have met her there. You may know her husband Bill James who volunteers for the National Park Service, the BLM and various wilderness or archeological organizations. The Metro Police (including search dogs on the grounds & helicopters w/ an infrared camera from air) and a number of volunteers have combed the area of the James' house near the South Point casino since Thurs. night. "Missing Person" flyers have been distributed around the area. As of 7:00 am Sun., we have no further news. A Metro detective told us that a missing person can "move" up to 20 miles in the first 24 hrs. It's been almost 72 hours since she was last seen at her home....her pickup truck, wallet, purse and cell phone were all left behind.
Would you print out the attached flyer and distribute it to your neighbors, friends and local stores? If you know/hear anything, please contact Metro (828-LOST). Thank you.
Yuki Takagi ----------------------------- A missing person flyer is also available for download here.
Thank you, and
Never give up the good fight.
